Engine Down Gets Fucked

Posted by Zed on August 29, 2004

After playing in Houston, Engine Down's van and trailer were stolen from the parking lot of the Red Roof in on NW Freeway in Houston. A TON of items were stolen, including three laptop computers, ALL of their gear, merchandise, and other stuff they brought on the road with them. Their touring partners, Brazil, are being nice enough to let them borrow their gear for the rest of the tour. If you have any information regarding what happened, e-mail Cathy of Lookout! Records here: cathy@lookoutrecords.com It seems like this situation has been happening a lot recently with Verse, Xiu Xiu and Pretty Girls Make Graves as other examples. I'm thinking people stopped getting a high from stealing mp3s and they had to move up to stealing gear.

The Other Shore
Bloodshot (2018)

Not many bands can make it eight albums into their career without a single dud. However, it may take … Read more

Complicating things further is the fact that … Read more

Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon
Bloodshot (2012)

Murder by Death are back with their sixth studio album, and it's their moodiest album yet. It's a stark contrast to their last record, Good Morning, Magpie--returning to, while exploring, more layers of atmospheric tones. With each album(excluding Red of Tooth...), I always found myself needing to give them multiple rounds to fully appreciate what I was listening to--Bitter Drink, … Read more

It's a little while after soundcheck and I've lined up shots of Jameson along the corner of the bar. I motion towards the drinks as Adam Turla walks over, but he smiles and shakes his head. "It's the fourth shot I've had to turn down tonight!" he says laughing. We … Read more
