Joyful Noise Recordings has a new seasonal collaboration series called The Sound Sanctuary Series, which launches with a new effort between collective The Sound Sanctuary and Deerhoof.

The series will issue four releases this year, beginning with the spring Deerhoof effort, later followed by collaborations with Kishi Bashi, JD Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), and Yoni Wolf (WHY?). They will be sold individually on 10"/digital, and in a 4x 10" boxset at the end.

Per the press release, Joyful Noise Recordings' founder Karl Hofstetter, "describes the Sound Sanctuary as the 'opposite of AI”' -- a return to the organic soil of creation. As streaming platforms introduce artificial artists designed to harvest profits once sustained by living musicians, the Sound Sanctuary seeks inspiration in the frequencies of the natural world."
