Ways Away, featuring members of Stick To Your Guns, Samiam, BoySetsFire, and more, are continuing their string of standalone singles with the new track, "Never Mind The Dog."
Speaking on the new song, vocalist/guitarist Jesse Barnett (Stick to Your Guns, Wish You Were Here) says:
“Never Mind The Dog" is a song about being completely and utterly disgusted and fed up with the world at large. While it becomes harder and harder to just live your life without having to give so much of it away to other people to build their dreams upon our backs, the only hope I have left is an admittedly slow moving but powerful class consciousness of working people who are naive enough to believe we can change things. It’s the only thing that any of us should be thinking about in my opinion and we should be fighting this greedy climate killing system of never ending profit accumulation through every possible avenue we can.
The band includes Barnett, guitarist Sergie Loobkoff (Samiam, Knapsack, Racquet Club), drummer Jared Shavelson (BoySetsFire, The Hope Conspiracy), and bassist Ian Smith (Racquet Club) and released a self-titled album (Other People Records) in 2020.
