The drummer for New Orleans' EyeHateGod, Joseph M. LaCaze, passed away last week on August 23 due to respirator failure. He had long suffered from asthma as well.

In addition to EyeHateGod, LaCaze also performed in several solo experimental electronics bands, Mystick Krewe of Clearlight, and Outlaw Order and recently wrapped up a 5-week European tour with EyeHateGod before his passing. A memorial has been started to benefit his daughter, Lilith.
