Mark Deutrom has announced a new solo effort under the name of The Blue Bird, scheduled for release on Jan. 4 via Season of Mist.

Deutrom, a former bassist for The Melvins, hasn't released new music under his own name for 6 years. The Blue Bird is described as "rock grandeur, oozing poise and purpose, and has all the hallmarks to be an abiding piece of heavy rock history." Deutrom plays guitar, bass, keyboards, and more, in addition to providing vocals on the record.
