Strangelight has announced their debul album, Adult Themes. The band features members of Transistor Transistor, Kowloon Walled City, and more, and plays hardcore-influenced punk with (cough) adult themes to their lyrics.
"I distinctly remember being in high school, driving to band practice, and hearing Hot Snakes' Automatic Midnight for the first time. I was floored. In some way or another, I've been doing my best approximation of Hot Snakes and Rocket from the Crypt ever since," says guitarist/vocalist Nat Coghlan when speaking of the project and giving potential listeners an idea of the musical inspiration beyond their previous groups.
The band also includes drummer Julia Lancer (The New Trust), Tony Teixeira (Swingin' Utters, Cobra Skulls, Western Addiction), and Ian Miller (Kowloon Walled City, Less Art). The record itself was recorded in March 2020 just as the Bay Area went into lockdown.
