It's back-to-back thirtieth anniversary album posts at SPB (not to hint at our age or anything).

Nirvana's classic Nevermind album celebrates its thirtieth anniversary -- originally released on Sept. 24, 1991 -- with a new deluxe edition coming Nov. 12. The new arrangement varies by format, including an 8LP+7" pack, a 5CD pack, and a Blu-Ray.

To release via Geffen/UMe, the collection features 94 tracks (audio and video counted), with 70 previously unreleased. All of them were remastered from the original analog tapes. The collection includes four full live shows.

Some anniversary reissues are like tapas. Small, manageable servings of exactly what you want and you wind up leaving utterly satisfied. Others are like going to Country Buffet. Unplugged in New York
Geffen (2007)

At the risk of sounding like a filthy hippie droning on about the sixties and how you had to be there to understand it, the same could pretty much be said for the early nineties. It's strange that, while numerous memories have vanished from my mind over the years, I can still remember where I was when I learned of the death of Kurt Cobain: in a school bus, rounding the loop outside an elementary school in south-central Pennsylvania. Probably the strangest thing about remembering … Read more
