Drummer Ryan Parrish (Bleach Everything/Iron Reagan) has an expansive new multi-instrumental project coming soon called Slow Burning Rage.
The project is set to release a self-titled album on via Pax Aeternum on Dec. 17, which also includes guests from Darkest Hour, Municipal Waste, Avail, and more. For those keeping score,
Parrish has also played with City Of Caterpillar, Suppression, Mammoth Grinder, Darkest Hour, Years, and Harmonic Cross.
Slow Burning Rage pulls from everything namedropped above: an amalgam of different styles ranging from post-punk to ambiance and free jazz.
The lead single is "The Slow Burn Of Madmartigan," as described by Parrish:
With no previous discussions or rehearsals, the foundation for the song "The Slow Burn Of Madmartigan" was an improvised dynamic rhythmic frenzy spawned in the studio by a talented bassist named Paul Burnette and myself. Later additions of electronics, organ, bass and synthesizers were layered on top to fill out the overall construct, producing hidden elements the listener can catch with every play.
