SofaBurn Records has released a benefits compilation to help raise funds for West Kentucky tornado relief. The album has over fifty songs from the likes of My Morning Jacket, Joan Shelley, Bonnie “Prince” Billie, R.Ring, and Jeremy Pinnell.

Overall it includes new songs, b-sides, live recordings, and bedroom demos. The official title is Happy Hollerdays 2021.

Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore state:

Happy Hollerdays 2021 was meant to be a few shows to begin an annual concert series celebrating and incorporating the very best of Kentucky’s and Appalachia’s music, literature, and dance, all while raising funds and awareness for important causes. This year, the beneficiary was set to be Kentucky Natural Lands Trust.

But things changed on the night of the first show, December 10th. Horrific storms swept across the state and the region. Many lives were lost, communities devastated. We weren’t sure whether or not to go on. The lands trust, to their enormous credit, was first to suggest that we divert the funds from the shows to storm relief efforts. The idea grew from there. By the 15th we’d decided to release recordings from the shows as a further fundraiser. Then we started sending messages out to friends asking if they’d like to contribute. Within 48 hours we had a staggering 52 tracks ranging from home recordings to live performances to phone demos to studio records.

Circuital
ATO (2011)

My Morning Jacket’s latest release titled Circuital, especially because of the first single “Holdin on to Black Metal,” has been called something of a long departure from their previous album, but Jim James and company remain consistent where it counts: in making great, rounded, listenable records. Circuital is chock-full of repetitious, exhaustive lyrics and chord progressions, but it more than … Read more

Along with "Who would win in a fight between The Incredible Hulk and Hulk Hogan?" and "How do they get cranes on top of half built skyscrapers?" there is only one other question that seems impossible to answer: "Is there anything that would make The Mail on Sunday worth buying?" It Still Moves
RCA (2003)

My Morning Jacket pulled it off. They have officially won me over. Recently signed to RCA, they released their third full length to surprisingly, a lot of press coverage. After giving this a couple run throughs, I can clearly see why. Starting the record off with a twangy trill from a guitar and vocals with more reverb than you can … Read more
