New York, NY based experimental rock band The Mortal Prophets has announced their debut LP, Me and the Devil, which will release on Dec. 9. The band, led by John Beckmann, has partnered with Scene Point Blank for the release of the title track in advance.
The Mortal Prophets released an EP, Stomp the Devil, earlier this year. This time around they stuck with the devil theme but took a new approach.
Working with multi-instrumentalist William Declan Lucey, Beckmann shared tracks, leading to new collaborations and directions. The album includes contributions from Dana Colley (Morphine), Lucey (Rubyhorse), and Aoibheann Carey-Philpott. This collection settles on a blues framework with bold direction yet constant shapeshifting throughout, on display in the title track.
