The #1 record of the year in 2003 when Scene Point Blank launched, Piano Island, Burn by The Blood Brothers is getting a limited collector's edition print for its 20th anniversary.

Available Oct. 6, the repressing will include colored vinyl, the Ambulance vs. Ambulance 7", plus expanded liner notes and photos.

“Listening to these songs twenty years later, I hear the sound of youth; of the world opening up. It's unbridled, it's overwhelming, and it's relentless. None of it should've worked, and honestly, some of it doesn't. But I'm proud of it for those exact reasons. That we stood there on the precipice, gazing into the unknown, and dove face first," vocalist vocalist Jordan Blilie says in a press release.

Here's what SPB said at the time in a 3-author review.

The Blood Brothers formed in 1997, playing into 2007 and releasing five studio albums. Members have gone on to play with Jaguar Love, Past Lives, Fleet Foxes, and Head Wound City.

When it comes to The Blood Brothers, you could call me a fan boy. Everything they've released (minus Rumors Laid Waste which I won't count) keeps progressing, keeping me on my toes. The Blood Brothers' second album in little over a year and half finds the Seattle quintet treading some unfamiliar ground, to say the very least. Not to fret, long-time fans of the Brothers of Blood - the trademark frenetic rhythms, angular guitars (which often recall Duane Denison on a bad crack binge), stop-start dynamics, and the dual shrieking voices of … Read more
