Gaswar's debut (Cows/Melvins), 20+ years later
Gaswar - Girl Vanishes On The Way To Jive Club

Rock Is Hell Records has announced that it will release Girl Vanishes On The Way To Jive Club, the 1990s-recorded debut album from Gaswar, a band comprised of members of Cows, Melvins, Hammerhead, and VAZ.

As the membership suggests, the band fits into the noise-rock realm.

“Cows played a show with Hammerhead sometime in late '80s or early '90s at The Uptown Bar in Minneapolis,” explains Kevin Rutmanis. “It was one of the only times Shannon (singer for the Cows) told me I'd better go check out the opening band because they were so good!”.

At a point in the late '90s when both Cows and Hammerhead were on hiatus, the artists joined forces to record this debut, now finally to hit the public.

He adds: “The LP drifted off into space. As we got busy with Vaz, The Melvins (and later, with Tomahawk)...I heard it again a few months ago via random shuffle and remembered how much I liked it. The boys encouraged me to go ahead and wrap it up. Did some vocals, added a little guitar here, a few scratches there, some drums from Jeff… ran it by everybody for a final OK."

Tracklist:

  1. Get Down Moses
  2. Memories of Steam
  3. Lion
  4. Terrible Day to Have Eyes
  5. Debra Had Never Felt So Dirty iN HER LIFE
  6. Midnight at The Bush Foundation
