Ty Segall has teamed up with, well, a team of musicians to create the benefit compilation L.A. RECOVERS, a limited one-time vinyl release via Classic Master Sound Recordings.

"The idea of doing a comp turned into friends covering each other and we thought that would be a perfect thing to do for some L.A. fire relief charity fundraising. One thing was important –  that everyone involved needed to have spent creative time living in L.A. It’s been very fun for everyone involved to cover each other's music," Segall says in a press statement.

The comp features Segall, of course, and many friends.

Broken down:

  • Redd Kross Covers White Fence
  • White Fence Covers Emmett Kelly
  • Emmett Kelly Covers Shannon & The Clams
  • Shannon & The Clams Cover King Tuff,
  • King Tuff Covers Ty Segall,
  • Ty Segall Covers Charles Moothart,
  • No Age Covers The Intelligence

But wait, there's more.

Specifically, all proceeds will go directly to One Voice LA - Fire Relief Fund and California Black Freedom Fund - Black LA Relief & Recovery Fund.

Preorders are available now.

Ty Segall is in constant motion. This year alone, he’s released a collection LP, a collaboration with White Fence, and now a solo record—all while maintaining a steady string of tour dates. While he’s been releasing records since 2008, Twins is the first I’ve sat down and given listen. Billed as a garage rocker, Segall’s music pulls from varied sources. … Read more
