Based between Chicago and Minneapolis, avant jazz/drone-infused death metal collective Abhorrent Expanse just announced their second album, Enter The Misanthropocene, out August 15 on Amalgam Music.The new record features 11 movements, improvised live by the band on April 10 at Signaturetone Recording in Minneapolis. The lineup for the recording is Brian Courage (upright and electric basses, prepared electric bass, electric piano), Erik Fratzke (guitars, electric bass, prepared electric piano, synth), Tim Glenn (drums, cymbals, percussion, door, chimes, bowed metals), and Luke Polipnick (vocals, guitars, prepared electric bass, bowed metals). It will release on CD and digitally later this summer.
The group released Gateways To Resplendence in 2022.
