Indie rock quartet Caterpillars is back, and they are currently in preparation mode ahead of their upcoming fifth full-length album. After The Flood will release on July 25, an album defined by themes of self-doubt, generational tension, the passage of time, and more.
The band is sharing a new single today and Scene Point Blank has the pleasure of introducing it.
While fitting the broader narrative of the album, “The Road To Silence” also stands on its own. "This is my favorite song off the album,” Chris Robinson says. “I wrote the lyrics so they could be somewhat relatable but also interpreted in multiple ways."
The song comes across as equal parts yearning for a bright future and reflecting on a challenging past. Is it a song about moving forward after setbacks or a song about treading water in an unrelenting sea? That’s up to you.
The band last released Frontier for the Fallen in 2022.
