French screamo/post-hardcore band Gros Enfant Mort shared the song “Merci les cendres” this past week, the first single from a new album called Le Sang des Pierres, out Jan. 23 via Moment Of Collapse Records, No Funeral Records, Fireflies Fall Records, and Spleencore Records.

The band cites Daïtro, Amanda Woodward, Sed Non Satiata, Verse, Have Heart, and Defeater as influences and last released La Banalité du Mal in 2022.

"With Le Sang des Pierres, we’re back with a heavier, more direct sound. The album explores themes such as depression, isolation, mental health, social pressure, and the difficult process of trying to move forward despite everything — real, unfiltered experiences that shape our lives," the band says. The word "unfiltered" seems especially fitting for their raw sound.
