The Mon has formally announced Songs of Embrace, the second part of the "Embrace the Abandon" project, following Songs of Abandon, which released last year. The new Songs of Embrace will release on March 6 on Supernatural Cat.

The Mon is a personal project that comes from vocalist/bassist Urlo or Ufomammut.

Urlo states:

Songs of Embrace was conceived more like a work of classical music, a suite: different parts unfolding into one another, each continuing from the previous one, finding meaning only as a whole. For this reason, choosing individual tracks to represent the album is difficult. The pieces are deeply interconnected, like embraces -- some bring comfort, others carry pain. These compositions are meant to be listened to in one continuous breath, allowing yourself to be held, rocked, and sometimes pushed away, just like in an embrace.

The first single is streaming now (below).

Ufomammut are certainly not a new band by any means. The Italian psych-doom trio have been kicking around since the turn of the century and over the past 2 years have managed to catch the eye of Neurosis. The previously noted Neurosis noted their power and signed them to their own label. So now with a proper North American label … Read more
