New from Panopticon

Panopticon has a new 2xLP called Det Hjemsøkte Hjertet out on May 8 via longtime label home Bindrune Recordings. The title translates to "The Haunted Heart."

Inspired by the woods of northern Minnesota, per Bindrune, "The album follows an elder hermit in the final week of his life, interweaving childhood memories with a lament for an ecosystem transformed by modern encroachment."

In 2024, Austin Lunn shared this list of influences with SPB.

Tracklist:

1 - Woodland Caribou

2 - The Great Silence, Extinct

3 - Blood and Fur Upon The Melting Snow

4 - The White Cedars

5 - A Culture Of Wilderness

6 – Lyset (‘The Light’)

7 - Ghost Eyes In The Fire Light

Flenser (2011)

Did you ever just get constantly impressed with the evolution that an artist or group of artists make through the progression of their work and craft? Panopticon certainly is making that type of impression on me at this particular juncture as the one man political black metal project drops one of the more politically acerbic records that I have heard … Read more
