It's our pleasure to share Midnight City, the third album from Austin, TX based Drakulas. The band features members of some well-known bands, namely Riverboat Gamblers and Rise Against, but this project takes a new turn with protopunk meets early new wave that describes a dark underbelly of a world gone awry.
Following Terminal Amusements (2020), this record continues to fester in Drakulas' fictionalized late '70s metropolis built on cheap thrills and endless paranoia.
“We Drakulas continue to evolve our sonic mastery of lo-fi instrumentation. Midnight City is the result of a dirty basement, menthol cigarettes and the warm glow of a cathode ray TV. We spilled kerosene on the keyboards to make them sound uglier. Not for squares,” the band says.
