Sludgeworth, the Chicago, IL band who released their debut 35 years ago, has announced Second Time Around, out June 19 on Red Scare Industries.
"I don't think anyone had Sludgeworth putting out a full-length record in 2026 on their Bingo card," drummer Brian McQuaid says in a press statement. "But during the hiatus, there were plenty of moments where I found myself imagining the record we never got to make -- the one that should have come out as a follow-up in 1992. I think we finally made that record."
The lineup on the new LP is drummer McQuaid, vocalist Dan Schafer, guitarists Dave McLean and Adam White, plus new bassist Simon Lamb (Violets and The Methadones). The group initially formed in 1989 when McQuaid and Schafer left Screeching Weasel. Their debut was reissued in 2022 by Red Scare.
They also have a few live dates lined up in the Midwest this summer.
