Dave French, drummer of Yob, has announced a solo album under the name Semantron. On July 10 Semantron will released Secrets Of A Krummholz Heart, on which French plays multiple instruments. The name is a nod to an ancient monastic instrument, choosing it due to Semantron's focus on slow, resonant, and meditative tones.
The new record is chapter 1 with more to come.
In addition to Yob, French has played with Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, been a collaborator with Von Till/Harvestman, and has produced multiple records.
