Mike Huguenor (Jeff Rosenstock, Shinobu, Hard Girls) has announced a new 8-bit reimagining of his 2025 album Surfing the Web with the Alien, released today on the album's one year anniversary. The new version sees the entire album redone via LSDJ and custom Game Boy tools. It is also the inaugural release on Huguenor's new Infinite Baffle Records, a lbel to showcase experimental releases.
Speaking of the album remix, Huguenor explains, "It was a brand new frontier, an entirely different challenge to tackle as both a musician and just like, a person trying to understand how things work...I’ve built HTML sites since 2000, but I’d never truly programmed until now. Teaching myself GB Studio was like discovering a secret room in my own music."
