Math rock trio cowboyy (stylized and spelling wrong, as is the trend these days), has shared "the magic mountain" as the first single from the band's upcoming Big Scary Monsters debut, revocder, a 9-song EP out on Sept. 25 that follows-up their epic the movie EP.
“‘the chair mountain’ was a song composed within a dream. It was a time where I felt like I was trying to prove something after ‘epic the movie’, which was a very simple, easy to listen to EP. I was trying to write something shocking. It was heavily inspired by the work of Hieronymus Bosch, whose imagery influenced the sound and general style of the song. I wanted to create an audio version of a painting of that nature. Inference works in weird ways. There’s other influences musically that become obvious when pointed out like Don Caballero too and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard," the band says of their latest single.
