The Albert Square will release their second full-length album this summer on Sept. 18, courtesy of Asian Man Records. The new album has 14 songs and is titled I (Wish I Could) Talk To People. We've shared the first single below, "Bless This Mess," which also features guest vocals from Jeff Rosenstock along with project leader Sim Castro.
"It’s real easy to spiral out and get caught in the 'could haves' and 'should haves,' the past or the future," Castro says of the song. "The hard part about living is finding a way to remain present. Especially in the moments that suck, where you feel isolated and you’re going mad. I love that the narrator seeks comfort in religious imagery but, ultimately, finds that living for themselves in the present is the real antidote."
The Albert Square released Swallow You Whole EP last year. They play live at FEST 24 in October.
