Next Friday, January 29, The Kinks will present The Moneygoround, a one man show livestream (8 GMT) via YouTube.

The special event comes as The Kinks celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their eight studio album Part 1. Lola Versus Powerman and The Moneygoround, originally recorded and released in 1970.

Speaking of the play, Ray Davies says:

"The Moneygoround" is a one-man show documenting a character facing the challenging circumstances of making an album under extreme pressure. This play, similar to a psychodrama, follows the ups and downs of the character as he plays out events in his life. He confronts the dark forces surrounding him after falling into an emotional and financial "hole" eventually he is saved by a song after confiding in his friend, Lola.

In addition to the play, the live stream will included additional archive footage, videos, and more.

Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround was recently released in various deluxe packages as part of the anniversary celebration.
