Dan Lilker to rejoin Anthrax for limited tour

Anthrax has announced that the band's upcoming South American tour will see a new lineup. Bassist Frank Bello is unable to attend the upcoming tour, so the group has recruited founding member and original bassist Dan Lilker to take the stage. Lilker played on Fistful of Metal, as well as in Stormtroopers of Death with Charlie Benante and Scott Ian. Lilker has also played with Nuclear Assault, Brutal Truth, Exit-13, Malformed Earthborn, The Ravenous, Overlord Exterminator, Venomous Concept, and more.

"When we parted ways back in 1984, they told me to stick around because they might need me in 40 years," Lilker (likely?) jokes in a press statement.

He will also play with the band at two upcoming US festivals: Welcome to Rockville, and Sonic Temple Festival.

With Lilker on bass, dates for Anthrax’s upcoming tour are as follows:

APRIL

13 MXMF The Metal Fest, Ciudad De México, Mexico

15 Cancha Diamante, San Salvador, El Salvador

17 Pepper's, San Jose, Costa Rica

19 The Metal Fest, Quito, Ecuador

21 The Metal Fest, Santiago, Chile

23 Sala de Museo, Montevideo, Uruguay

Worship Music
Megaforce (2011)

The story of how Worship Music came to be is longish and a bit complicated—dating back to 2009 in what was essentially a three-way dance for the vocalist spot. Some of the original material was adjusted accordingly or, in most cases, scrapped all together and rewritten, resulting in what is ultimately the best case scenario for long-time Anthrax fans: the … Read more
