Foo Fighters + Anthrax?
GBI - The Regulator single

A one-off single from a band calling itself GBI will release a 7" single, The Regulator, on April 20 for Record Store Day (Megaforce Records). The GBI of the band stands for Dave Grohl, Charlie Benante, and Scott Ian, who are covering Bad Brains on a limited release to raise funds towards health care for Paul D. Hudson, aka H.R., of Bad Brains.

Pre-release press explains:

Anthrax had been recording the last batch of new songs for their next album at Grohl’s 606 Studios, and Foo Fighters were camped there as well in rehearsals. Grohl had stopped by Anthrax's studio to say hi and check things out, and at one point, Ian texted Grohl and suggested the idea of all of them getting together to record ”The Regulator." Said Ian, “Charlie and I asked Dave if he’d play drums and sing as well, and he was in. Charlie played bass, and I was on guitar. We ripped the song live in two takes.”

Benante created the art for the single.

RCA (2014)

With their newest release, Sonic Highways, we aptly find Foo Fighters at an apparent crossroads and no longer content to write and record music in a traditional fashion. Sonic Highways is an album conceived and written as a companion piece to the HBO series of the same name, and directed by Dave Grohl himself. The concept of the show? Go … Read more

Worship Music
Megaforce (2011)

The story of how Worship Music came to be is longish and a bit complicated—dating back to 2009 in what was essentially a three-way dance for the vocalist spot. Some of the original material was adjusted accordingly or, in most cases, scrapped all together and rewritten, resulting in what is ultimately the best case scenario for long-time Anthrax fans: the … Read more
