Paul (The COVIDS – guitar)
SPB: This band formed during shutdowns and didn’t get to play live for some time. What is the longest you’ve gone, with COVIDS or any band, between forming and actually playing your first show?
Paul: For all of us it was definitely this band that took the longest to get from rehearsal studio to the stage. As for a lot of people, covid and lockdown is all a bit of a blur but it must have been 1.5 years and about 13 cancelled shows before we actually got to perform live. Which was cathartic to say the least! Sad part was that after the first couple of shows the Netherlands re-entered lockdown so we were back to not playing. At the end of the day I think the plus side of all this was that we had a lot of time actually focusing on writing songs that we all really loved and when we were able to finally do gigs the shows were better for it.
