Orphanage Named Earth

SPB: If you could change just one thing in the human mindset today, what would it be and why?

The desire to form hierarchy in the society. Once food became commodity and civilisation as we know it arrived, humans formed hierarchy and those in power started to control those less fortunate. This led to exploitation, slavery and racism. The worst things humans can do to each other. We should learn from the tribal peoples of the past and of today, who live their lives with no hierarchy thus not being familiar with concepts like classes, prisons, suicide, depression and poverty. We have one life on one planet and should respect each other.

Music / History 101 • August 3, 2025

Like most independent labels, Sell The Heart started to document a scene without really asking themselves “Where do you see yourself in 15 years?” In 2010, founder Andy Pohl was barely even thinking about vinyl. Last year around this time I was reviewing the debut album of Orphanage Named Earth. It was an album I enjoyed but had some remarks on as well. My two main remarks on the album were that the vocals tended to be a bit monotonous and secondly that the songwriting became a little formulaic. Not in a way it hindered … Read more

Orphanage Named Earth is Polish band that plays romantic crust. I'll explain later on what to expect, but let me tell you up front: in a strange way it is a pretty accurate description.
