Sella and Emperor X

Posted in Records on February 7, 2026

Sella, the solo project from Brian Sella (The Front Bottoms), has a new debut album on the way. The record, Well I Mean, will release on Bar/None on March 13. It was produced by Chad Methany (Emperor X), who also released a new single this week.

As the legend goes:

The track first came to life while Brian was in Berlin, recording it live at Donau 115, the Berlin DIY jazz club co-owned by Emperor X.

The two artists toured together in 2013, building up to the present. The artists will tour (and perform together) on an upcoming tour.

Emperor X also just released a new single, "Pissing With the Flashlight On," based on Matheny's recent visit to Ukraine.
