New Street Eaters sets release date (and adds guitar)

Posted in Records on March 13, 2021

Simple Distractions, a new EP from Street Eaters, will release on April 9 via Nrevous Intent Records, run by the Bay Area band.

The DIY band long-comprised of Megan March (drums/vocals) and John No (bass/vocals) is joined on this EP by guitar:

The band explains:

While we were on tour with Screaming Females, Marissa (Paternoster) asked us if we wanted to cover Gang of Four’s “Love Like Anthrax” with her live as kind of a segue from our set into the Screamales, and over the course of a few weeks of wild feedback and the energy of playing with such a shredder it sounded really good and we got addicted. When we got home we mulled it over and decided that would be a fun direction - we figured after 10+ years a band should be able to do whatever the hell they want.

Three songs on the EP feature guest guitarist Stevo (Tony Molina Band), and it ends with a live Gang of Four cover featuring Screaming Females’ Marissa Paternoster on guitar and vocals.

While Stevo and Paternoster are guests on this EP, the band is now formally a three-piece with the addition of guitarist Joan DeToro, who will perofrm on the group's next album.
