Tunde Adebimpe album on April 18

Posted in Records on February 2, 2025

Tunde Adebimpe, best known as vocalist of TV on the Radio, has set a release date for his debut solo album. Thee Black Boltz will release on April 18 on Sub Pop Records, with a single out now, "Drop." Adebimpe shared the song “Magnetic” last year.

The process behind the record is described a similar to TV on the Radio -- but solo.

“I’ve been doing this thing with this group of people for so long, that I can just have a vague sketch of a concept and I know Jaleel or Kyp will have five brilliant ideas on where it can go,” Adebimpe says in a press release. “But for Thee Black Boltz, I didn’t have that scaffolding to hang on. That was both terrifying and exhilarating.”
