Punknews is reporting that the Pixies have fired bassist Kim Shattuck, who recently joined them in place of Kim Deal. Shattuck, also of The Muffs, announced on Facebook: Super disappointed to learn that my time with the Pixies ended today. Amazing experience. Looking forward to focusing my attention back on the Muffs and our upcoming new album. All the best to everyone. The Pixies have a tour scheduled for early 2014.
