Swans announce The Seer

Posted in Records on May 30, 2012

On August 28 long-running Swans will be releasing a 2CD, 3LP record The Seer alongside a special edition including a live DVD. Among others, the 2 hour release will include guests Al and Mimi of Low, Jarboe, Akron/Family, and more.

Headman Michael Gira states:

The Seer took 30 years to make. It's the culmination of every previous Swans album as well as any other music I've ever made, been involved in or magined. But it's unfinished, like the songs themselves. It's one frame in a reel. The frames blur, blend and will eventually fade.

The band, who recently released We Rose from Your Bed with the Sun In Our Heads, will also embark on a North American tour with Xiu Xiu in September.
