Metallica has announced the hiring of director Nimrod Antal to direct an upcoming 3D feature film. The film will mix concert footage with narrative from the five band members and fans. Shooting will begin in August with a summer 2013 release date in mind. Antal previously directly such films as Kontroll, Vacancy, Armored, and the upcoming Predators remake.
