Bright Eyes and The Poison Oak Project

Posted in Bands on March 3, 2025

Bright Eyes has launched a new 501(c)(3) to raise funds/awareness for LBGTQ+ advocacy, The Poison Oak Project.

In partnership with PLUS1 and Propeller, the band will use The Poison Oak Project to facilitate in-venue fundraising at each show, in addition to online fundraising, on their world tour in support of Five Dice, All Threes (Dead Oceans). Full tour dates below.

In a prepared statement, Conor Oberst says:

Starting today, we are launching what we are calling the Poison Oak Project. We will be partnering with PLUS1 and Propeller to raise money for local LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations in every city we play for the rest of our US tour, as well as for the LGBT National Help Center nationwide, in hopes of bringing more awareness and funding to their important work. There will also be opportunities to donate to win merch bundles at each stop along the upcoming tour. You can learn more at https://poisonoakproject.com/.

It is very simple. Our friends, families and neighbors are under attack, facing unprecedented threats to their freedoms and dignity. As we watch some of the most vulnerable populations in our society be dehumanized and terrorized, we cannot be silent as we witness this heartbreaking march towards cruelty and authoritarianism.
