Specialist Subject introduces Toodles & the Hectic Pity

Posted in Records on April 16, 2023

Folk-punk group Toodles & the Hectic Pity has shared a new single, "Emotionally Unclean," which will appear on the Bristol, UK based group's debut album, Happiness With Both Hands, out on June 23 via Specialist Subject Records.

“This was probably always envisioned as ‘the hit’ and our attempt to write something quite poppy. It attempts to voice some less-than admirable instincts when you need to create space for your self-development and your own mental health, while also fighting the need for external affirmation from other people. It’s sort of a ‘careful what you wish for’ song. Really, no one’s going to come along and cure you,” the band says of "Emotionally Unclean."

The band features members Callum, Max and Dom, who met at secondary school in Gloucestershire and formed the group in the mid 2010s. They have released three EPs thus far, though the LP is their first release with Specialist Subject.
