R. Loren (Pyramids, Handmade Birds)

SPB: Who is your favorite band to see live?

Loren: I have enjoyed seeing most of my all time favorite bands live: Bauhaus, Swans, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Unwound, Atari Teenage Riot, the list goes on and on. Without a doubt, the two most powerful performances I have seen in years include Pharmakon at Rubber Gloves in Denton, TX, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at MacFarlane Auditorium in Dallas, TX. In the end, I think the Nick Cave show is something that will resonate in my memory as the greatest live performance I have ever seen.

Susy Sharp (Soviettes)
SPB: What was the first concert you attended?

Sharp: My first concert I went to on my own, was Cheap Trick at the Fargo Red River Valley Fair in 1986.
I was 14 and met a biker lady in the bathroom who bought me beer all night. "Eternal Flame"

Andrew Gomez IV (Glory Kind Limited)
SPB: How old were you when you first picked up an instrument?

Gomez: Probably when I was 8 years old? My dad was in a band at the time and his drummer bailed on practice one night. He asked me to sit behind (at the time) enormous drum kit and just keep a beat so we can work on some riffs. And that's all she wrote.

Snyder (Weekend Nachos, vocals)
SPB: Who does the majority of the band’s driving? Any related stories?

Snyder: Andy and Drew do all of the driving...I think the reason for this is because their names are on the insurance or something. That, and I don't think either of them trust Brian or I to drive. Which is really silly because Brian and I are the smartest people in the band, but I'm not complaining because I hate driving on tour. At this point, I would refuse to drive even if they asked me, and Brian sleeps 20 hours out of the day anyway so that's not happening. As far as related stories...there aren't a whole lot.

One time, Andy was driving late at night and I had to piss really bad. I asked Andy to stop and he said "Fuck you", honestly I'm not sure why cuz I didn't do anything to piss him off. I thought he was joking but he actually didn't stop...so I just pissed in a Vitamin Water bottle (I don't drink that garbage, must've belonged to someone else in the band). Anyways, we don't really like keeping trash in the van and it was late so I tossed it out the window. I can't attest to this because I didn't actually see it happen...but apparently the piss bottle hit a deer in the face!!!! Drew started cracking up and I was like "What?" and he said "The bottle of piss just hit a deer in the face and piss just splashed all over him!!!" How many people can say that they've thrown a bottle of piss out the window of a van and hit a deer in the face with it?
