"Sometimes it seems like our lives can be stretched thin by our careers, by our hobbies, by any number of distractions... but this is something that the four of us will always be able make time for." Stay Ahead Of The Weather is almost a year old. They're four friends living, working, playing music and growing up in a Midwest DIY scene that means the world to them. A few of them play in a couple other bands (Into It. Over It. / Native / Castevet), but started this band for fun. They wanted to write songs that they love and have another excuse to hang out with each other in between going to shows and going to work. After almost 9 months of toiling over each guitar line, drum fill and trying to work around all of their individual touring schedules, they finally set time to record their first 5 songs, a collection which is titled "We Better Get Goin' If We're Gonna." They recorded the album in three days with their friend Mark Michalik (The Swellers, Fireworks, Castevet, Into It. Over It.) at Drasik Studios in Chicago, IL. No Sleep Records was later kind enough to put the record out on a 7", the way the band initially envisioned it (and had always intended it) to be. * Stay Ahead Of The Weather features: Evan Weiss from Into It. Over It., The Progress - vocals/guitar Nick Wakim of Castevet, Oceans - drums Bobby Markos of Native - bass Matt Jordan - Guitar * The new album was recorded in the late summer of 2010 with producer/engineer Mark Michalik (The Swellers, Fireworks, Into It Over It) at Drasik Studios in Chicago, IL, and mastered by Carl Saff (Melt Banana, Young Widows, Coliseum) Track List 1. Get Old Or Die Tryin' 2. Impressions & Impressing People 3. Sorority Social Suicide 4. No Sleep Till Humboldt 5. Butchering A Back Catalog
