Sounds of the San Francisco Underground series unearths '70s-80s recordings

Liberation Hall has announced a series of live recordings form the San Francisco Bay Area, capturing the 1970s and 1980s scene and sharing oft-overlooked but influential bands from the era.

The label has arranged a deal with former KALX Radio disc jockey Terry Hammer to share several digital-only releases in 2022, with select titles to see physical release in 2023.

Dubbed the "Sounds of the San Francisco Underground" series, the initial lineup is as follows. Each of the recordings were originally broadcast on KALX Radio and have been endorsed by the artists.

  • Oct. 07:      TIMES 5 - Live at Berkeley Square: August 8, 1980
  • Oct. 14:      SUDDEN FUN - Live at the Old Waldorf: March 30, 1980
  • Oct. 21:      THE IMPOSTORS - Live at Berkeley Square: August 8, 1980
  • Oct. 28:      NO SISTERS - Live at the Mabuhay Gardens: March 22, 1980
