Fucked Up, Pennywise Cause "Near Riots"

Posted in Music News on April 21, 2008

Two separate, but equally entertaining stories for you here involving a couple of punk bands starting "near riots" at recent performances. First up, Fucked Up was politely asked to leave after causing riot-like conditions at a festival performance at SUNY Purchase over the weekend.  The band attempted to perform their set but the crowd became a bit too volatile for security to handle, not to mention a safety barrier was knocked down by a certain frontman. Thus, the band's set was cut short and they were asked to leave the campus. You can read the full story here. Secondly, Pennywise had a recent gig at a Grand Prix event in Long Beach, CA ended after fans became unruly when they were denied access to the sold out event. Objects were thrown, people were tasered...the usual. You can read all about that one here.
