Philadelphia-rooted singer-songwriter Dave Hause has announced a new full-length album to come soon, Blood Harmony.

Hause, primarily a solo musician these days, recorded the album with an array of talented musicians whose resumes include work with The E Street Band, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, The Highwomen, Carrie Underwood, and more.

The record itself won't released until October 22 (Blood Harmony Records/Soundly Music), but a single called "Sandy Sheets" debuted this week via Rolling Stone. The song reflects on Hause's youth and frequent trips to the New Jersey shore.

Blood Harmony is Hause's fifth solo album. It was recorded in Nashville, TN with producer Will Hoge, whose connections led to the many guest appearances throughout.

Hause also released two cover EPs last year, Patty and Paddy.

Blood Harmony track listing:
Northstar
Sandy Sheets
Hanalei
Plagiarist
Gary
Surfboard
Leave It In That Dream
Snowglobe
Carry the Lantern
Little Wings

Patty EP
Independent (2020)

I reviewed Hause’s Paddy EP before this. The two came out the same day and, as name implies, somewhat work together. The concept for each is similar: highlighting the work of some of his favorite songwriters, albeit from different directions.I’m also coming at the Patty EP from a new perspective. With Paddy I was well versed in Dillinger Four. This EP covers five tunes penned by Patty Griffin and … Read more

Paddy EP
Independent (2020)

There’s a lot to unpack in this new Dave Hause EP, released in conjunction with the Patty EP. While there’s a lot in these five songs, it’s also somewhat on the surface: Hause has released two new covers EP paying tribute to songwriters he admires. Paddy contains five songs written by Patrick Costello aka Paddy of Dillinger Four. To paraphrase, Hause’s goal with this EP … Read more

Resolutions EP
Side One Dummy (2012)

We've finally come to the last of Dave Hause's EP series. The final EP comes from Side One Dummy and features covers of Flogging Molly's "Whistles the Wind" and Audra Mae's song, "The River." I'm sad to say, this was probably the most boring of the 5 EPs, but the covers save it. The acoustic version of "Resolutions" present on this EP … Read more

Dave Hause seems tired but enthusiastic. He's just finished the first two weeks of shows on the Devour America tour. There will be another fifty-six days before he has some time off. The grueling schedule seems befitting of Hause, who's most recent album Devour deals with, among other things, the … Read more
