Tunde Adebimpe album on April 18
Tunde Adebimpe - Thee Black Boltz

Tunde Adebimpe, best known as vocalist of TV on the Radio, has set a release date for his debut solo album. Thee Black Boltz will release on April 18 on Sub Pop Records, with a single out now, "Drop." Adebimpe shared the song “Magnetic” last year.

The process behind the record is described a similar to TV on the Radio -- but solo.

“I’ve been doing this thing with this group of people for so long, that I can just have a vague sketch of a concept and I know Jaleel or Kyp will have five brilliant ideas on where it can go,” Adebimpe says in a press release. “But for Thee Black Boltz, I didn’t have that scaffolding to hang on. That was both terrifying and exhilarating.”

Thee Black Boltz tracklisting:

 1. Thee Black Boltz

 2. Magnetic

 3. Ate The Moon

 4. Pinstack

 5. Drop

 6. ILY

 7. The Most

 8. God Knows

 9. Blue

10. Somebody New

11. Streetlight Nuevo

Based on the descriptions I was given prior, I anticipated to be extremely bored. Despite the warnings of others, I went forward and purchased the album blindly. I don't regret it for a moment. Now a year later, … Read more
