Loosegoroove Records, run by Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam) will soon release the debut solo album from Seattle punk veteran Paul Solger (Solger, The Fartz, Ten Minute Warning).
The record is titled 20 Years M.I.A. and comes out on May 8. The first single is out now, featuring Seattle native Duff McKagan on vocals.
“This album was a total surprise I never would have thought possible. Until 2019 I barely touched a guitar for years. I hated how they felt. Writing songs was just as vacant,” Solger says in a statement. “But when the pandemic hit I had a phone conversation with my old bandmate Robb Clark and we decided, ‘screw it, lets try once more.’...Fast forward to 2023 as we’re getting ready to record and Robb suddenly dies. I’m right back to being depressed again. But at some point a batch of songs were sent to Stone Gossard. He called from the road saying he got them and would get in touch after the tour. Three days later he called again quite excited about what he’d heard and the ball started rolling again. Next thing you know Duff McKagan is onboard to contribute.”
