Unavailable on digital platforms, long-running Japanese punk band Shonen Knife has re-recorded their ablum Let's Knife, titling the 2026 take as Let's Knife Re-Cut, out July 10 via Good Charamel Records. The original record was released in 1992 and helped the band reach a wider international audience.
“Many of those songs are still enjoyed by audiences as essential ‘best hits’ at live performances, but I was concerned that this album could only be heard on the original CD,” says vocalist/guitarist Naoko, leading to the current lineup -- Naoko (lead vocals/guitars), Atsuko (bass/drums/vocals), and Risa (drums/keyboards/vocals) -- for a do-over.
