Kuma's Fest for 15th anniversary
Kuma's Fest for 15th anniversary

Chicago restaurant Kuma's Corner is celebrating its 15th anniversary in a fig way, with a one-day festival at Brands Park, headlined by Anthrax with Converge, Russian Circles, The Atlas Moth, and Indian also playing.

The party takes place on June 27. Speaking of the event, president Ron Cain says:

We are proud and excited to celebrate our 15 year anniversary with all of our loyal supporters and friends by throwing this amazing concert and festival. We are stoked on the amazing lineup highlighted by Anthrax as our headliner; we’ve have had long-standing relationships with all of the bands playing, and we are going to blow the doors off of the Avondale neighborhood. Join us while we party, drink, and of course eat all of the best foods that Kuma’s Corner has to offer!

A portion of proceeds from the party will benefit Hope for the Day, a non-profit movement empowering the conversation on proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

Seemingly, they can do no … Read more

The Dusk In Us
Epitaph\Deathwish Inc (2017)

Out of all the bands painted with the seemingly ubiquitous metalcore tag, Converge seem both the most likely to accept the term graciously and rip your throat out for the mere suggestion. But really, they are a true amalgam of both - the sound is the heavy and the vocals and attitude are the core. The Dusk In Us is the … Read more

Guidance
Sargent House (2016)

The constant presence of Russian Circles in the post-rock domain has raised them to a prestigious status, and rightfully so. The band from Chicago started off about a decade ago, releasing their debut, Enter, in 2006. Their music was heavy and moving, and record by record the craftsmanship of the trio progressed, and especially since Geneva and Empros, they have … Read more
