Dismemberment Plan to reunite

The Washington Post is reporting that seminal late 90s/early 00s post-punk outfit Dismemberment Plan will reunite early next year for five shows in support of the vinyl reissue of their 1999 full-length Emergency & I. The reissue is slated for a January 11, 2011 release via Barsuk Records in the form of a gatefold double LP with an oral history conducted by The Onion's Josh Modell inside the sleeve. Bassist Eric Axelson told the paper that the band doesn't have any plans beyond these shows, and ruled out a new record for now: "We're not planning a new record ... But we're doing these shows and taking it day to day after that."
