Pet Genius have announced that they will be going on hiatus. The band issued the following statement:
Howdy Hi Hey Hello... See ya So long for now... That is to say Pet Genius will be taking an indefinite hiatus. Woven with an incestuous type of threading, the band has come apart due to other musical priorities pulling at the seams of each individual member. It's too bad, as we would very much like the time to fit this wicked smaaat and fuzzy little sonic creature into our collective schedule. So for now, as we begin an extended hibernation of sorts, you'll most certainly continue to hear about other whirlwinds of activity arising from our kindred camps. In the meantime, we plan to put some finishing touches on a recording we did back in February. From the dead of this past winter spawned five new pop monstrosities and a Tom Waits cover, tracked entirely at Club Awesome. The rough mixes have been doing really nice things to our own ears, and we hope to be offering more amped-up versions of them very soon. That's it for now and thanks to all who've been checking in, feeding the creature, keeping us company and paying respects.
