SPB: What’s a record you’re really into that would surprise your fans?
Gurgiolo: I listened to this masterpiece from 1995 to 2006 every day. When I think of it, I immediately feel comforted and at home. I fell in love with the sound multiple times over the years, especially in emotionally rough times when most albums felt labor-intensive to digest. Alternatively, the expansive sound of my boxy, blue 1991 Volvo car engine felt freeing and opened my eyes to the beauty of unconventional sound sourcing.
