Xtra Mile celebrating 20 years with big London show

Posted in Labels on December 29, 2022

2023 marks the twentieth anniversary of Xtra Mile Recordings, a UK label that has released albums by Frank Turner, Against Me!, Beans on Toast, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!< and many more that do not include exclamation points in their names.

To celebrate the two decade milestone, the label will host a show at Shepherd's Bush Empire featuring Pet Needs, Berries and Guise (all of whom have released new studio albums via the label this year), plus compere Chris T-T, and a headline set from Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, playing Tape Deck Heart (celebrating its 10th anniversary next year) in its entirety.

Says Turner, reflecting on his own experience with Xtra Mile:

My relationship with Xtra Mile stretches back to the very start, two decades unbroken now. After a happy decade licensing on to the world of the majors, I am ecstatic to have achieved the rare feat of completing that deal and even more so to be returning to being a fully independent artist. It’s a new chapter for me, and a homecoming. Onwards and upwards.
